Marilyn (Deston) Pierce

Marilyn Pierce, age 96, died on December 13, 2023.  She was born August 11, 1927, in Fall River, MA. to Alfred Deston and Lillian Pollard.  She married Donald Buckley Pierce on June 30, 1950, and moved to Kinsley in 1954 when Donald became the priest of the Church of the Holy Nativity. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her nephew Johnathan.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters Cheryl, Melinda, Candace and Mary; her sons-in-law Mark, James, and Thomas; and grandchildren Christopher, Elizabeth, Hannah, Jacob and Kathleen.

Marilyn had over forty years of experience teaching school, was a member of PEO, and served on the Board of Education.

The family moved to CT in 1960 to be closer to Donald and Marilyn's families and to pursue career opportunities.  Upon retirement, Donald and Marilyn, returned to Kinsley, a place they loved, a place where, Marilyn said, "the earth met the sky".

Both Donald and Marilyn will be buried together at Hillside Cemetery following her memorial service.
