Gale E. “Bim” Carney, 91, died September 26, 2018 at Edwards County Medical Center in Kinsley, KS. he was born February 18, 1927 in Lewis, KS. the son of Phillip E. and Myrtle (Wood) Carney. Gale graduated from Lewis High School. That is where he got the nickname of “Bimbo” where he played the elephant in the school play. He later shortened his nickname to “Bim.” Bim was drafted into the army two weeks after he graduated high school. When he returned from the service he was married to Joyce Scott she preceded Bim in death in 1992, they had four children two sons; Randy and Craig, and two daughters Debbie who preceded Bim in death and Mikki Carney. He is survived by them and six grandchildren. Bim was also preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 in the Lewis Methodist Church, Lewis, KS. burial will be in Wayne Cemetery. Memorial are suggested to the Michael J. Fox Foundation in care of McKillip Memorial Funeral Home, Kinsley.
