Jon Thomas Long

Jon Thomas Long, died on August 28, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, KS. He was born to Maurice “Butch” Long and Rita (Clites) Miller on March 17, 1967 in Hutchinson, KS. Jon and Cheryl Louise (Kalinec) Long were united in marriage on February 12, 1994 in Alice, TX. From this union three children were born; Megan Skylar, Miranda Lynn, and Jon Connor and one grandson Elijah Reed. Other survivors include; His mother, Rita and Husband David Miller, a half-sister Brandy Kirby and family of Manitowoc, WI., stepmother, Cathy Long, stepbrothers T.J. and Darick Barnes and families, Fayetteville, AR., as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Jon was preceded in death by his father. Jon graduated from Lewis High School in 1987 and continued his education in diesel mechanics at Dodge City Community College. Jon loved his family, farming alongside of his dad, he loved helping people and he loved showing off his 1929 Model A Ford purchased from his dad’s estate. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at McKillip Memorial Chapel, Kinsley. Cards for the family may be sent to McKillip Memorial Funeral Home, Kinsley.
