Linda Case Obituary

Linda Carole (Ingraham) Case, loving wife, friend, and companion of her husband of 54 years, passed away quietly in the comfort of her home in Peoria, Arizona February 2, 2019. She is survived by her husband, Colin Case, daughter, Teresa Moore, son, Kirby Case, her granddaughter Taylor Staley, and two sisters Diane Schnoebelen and Sharon Miller.  She will be deeply missed by all those who loved and knew her.

Linda was born in Mobile, Alabama in 1944 where her dad was serving in the Coast Guard.  The family moved to a farm outside of Lewis, Kansas where she lived until she left for College.  As the oldest girl she spent a lot of her time helping her dad farm and tend to his cattle.  She was active in sports, band, and cheerleading during her secondary school years.

She met her future husband while attending the University of Kansas.  Marriage soon followed in 1965 with a move to New Jersey where she spent her time raising her two children.  After seven years, Linda and family moved to the Denver area to be closer to her parents who lived in Kansas.  She enjoyed travel, camping, hiking, and skiing with her family and at times with her sister’s family.  She loved her children dearly and was not hesitant to protect them and come to their defense.  She always gave her loving support to them through thick and thin throughout the years.

When her two children were in their teens, Linda returned to College and earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting. She worked for the IRS for fifteen years auditing companies before retiring with Colin to travel.  Linda loved to travel visiting all fifty states and driving the car for trips of England, Scotland, Italy, Canada, Australia, while her husband navigated and taking tours of Europe, Greece, Mediterranean Islands, and Turkey.  She made all the travel arrangements once the trips were planned out daily.

Linda was a remarkable woman.  She loved visiting with her nearby neighbors.  Always thinking of other people, never herself.  Even when she was dealing with severe health problems, she would constantly ask if “we were ok” and always thanked people when they did something for her no matter how insignificant the act.

A graveside ceremony is planned at 1 pm on April 26, 2019 for the inurnment of  her urn at Trotter Cemetery in Edwards County, Kansas.  Contributions would be greatly appreciated to:  The National Emphysema Foundation, 128 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06851 or on line at www.emphysemafoundation.org/index.php/about-uss/support-the-nef .
