Clinton Alexander Jones

Clinton Alexander Jones was born in Hays, Kansas on June 15, 1993. Clinton started out his life fighting to survive. His little chest working so hard for every breath, struggling to hang on and live. Clinton fought with the will and determination that even though he was a month early he would make a difference. He was air lifted to Wesley Hospital in Wichita where he had to stay for 9 days, due to a valve in his heart not closing, and they had to give him lots of extra oxygen.

Ever since Clinton was a young child, he showed extreme intelligence, compassion and kindness in all he did. He lit up the room when he walked in and was always trying to make people happy. If someone was not happy, he would do what he could to make him or her so. He loved to cook and was very good at it. He loved animals especially his silly cat, doing mechanical things, and building or fixing items. His talents were endless. He created beautiful knives from scrap metal, bracelets from copper tubing, made a gorgeous watch box out of hardwood, a bench seat and bed frame. He loved music and was very creative in many other ways.

Clinton was an excellent example for love and kindness. He was always ready and willing to help anyone. An example of this is a story shared by his Pre-School Teacher.” Clinton saw a classmate crying one day and he went over to comfort her, telling her that it would be o.k. as his grandma would be there soon.” When his little sister was sad or upset he would ask her if she would like a cup of tea or a grilled cheese. His high school counselor shared that Clinton never ever had a bad thing to say about anyone or anything and this showed the kind of character he had.

Clinton was a graduate of Kinsley High School and was crowned King at Mid-Winter. He was so surprised to even be a candidate, as the girls signed him up. He did not believe he had a “snow balls chance” to actually get it. Clinton lacked confidence in things such as this, as well as extreme anxiety when applying for jobs. He was sure they would not hire him. Darrin Bowman gave Clinton a chance and hired him to work at Midway Mfg. Clinton loved his job and co-workers. He looked forward to every day, which radiated from him when he had coffee with his mother in the mornings before work. His bosses shared that Clinton was an excellent employee that they knew they could depend on him to get things done and do a good job. He was extremely intelligent, always added an energy to the place and was such a good kid.

Clinton was very proud of our country and for serving in the Army as a Medic. He loved his “Brothers and Sisters” in his unit and there are many stories to be told of their adventures. I hope they will share them with his family. As these memories are precious. Being a Medic was very important to him and was able to help some people outside of the military with his knowledge in non-serious issues.

Clinton was passionate in everything he did. He was “all in”. Whether it was in learning something new, playing a game, committing to something and in LOVING. He loved his children, family, friends and God. He had a tender nature that did not like any kind of conflict. When there was, he tended to believe he was the one at fault. He gave the air that he was confident but deep down Clinton felt like he did not have people that genuinely cared about him. He was impulsive and silly and had a smile that radiated JOY! If only he knew how many people loved, respected and are missing him dearly. One of his Army unit members mentioned that, “When the sun is shining on your face and when you feel the warmth that is Clinton letting you know he is there.” Fly High Clinton your work here is done. You are loved by many!

Clinton Alexander Jones left this world and went home to Heaven on April 25, 2020 at Hoisington, KS.

He is preceeded in death by his grandparents Leonard and Dora Jean Hogan and Frances and James R. Jones SR.Clinton is survived by parents Marianna and James Jones II of Kinsley, Kansas; ex-wife Nika Sandoval Jones North Lauderdale, FL; children Aiden Jones, Dodge City; Kelbi Jones, Dodge City; and Luna Jones, North Lauderdale, FL; siblings Elizabeth Dooley, Hill City, KS; Aaron Medina, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Brianna Kendig, Osborne, KS; Kiley Medina, Kinsley, KS; Natalie Jones, Kinsley, KS, step-brother Jacob Huse, Kinsley, KS and grandparents Randy and Anita Marintzer, Hays, KS. As well as many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
