Marcellus Wilburn Brown, age 79, passed away at his home in Lewis, KS on March 17, 2022. Marcellus was born January 16, 1943, to Herbert A. and Alice Martha (Williams) Brown, in Olney, OK. Marcellus was a graduate of Olney High School in Olney, OK and settled in Lewis KS in 1967 where he worked for Cross Manufacturing for just shy of 55 years. Marcellus had 2 sons, Wade Marcellus Brown and Shannon Lee Brown, with Janice (Larrick) Erickson that they raised together in Lewis, KS. Marcellus was a man of few words but had a great influence on many people with his kind demeanor and big heart.

He is survived by his two sons, Wade Marcellus Brown of Lewis, KS and Shannon Lee Brown (Rebecca) of Jackson, TN. Grandsons Coleman West (Tiffany) of Woodward, OK, Naman Brown of Jackson TN, and Pierson Brown of Jackson, TN and granddaughter, Madison Brown of Hillsboro, KS.

Brothers: Martin Brown of Olney, OK. Phillip Brown (Patsy) of Olney,
OK, Lyle Brown of Sayre, OK and Tim Brown of Cottonwood, OK. Sisters: Maxine Mitchell of Shawnee, OK, Beth Williams (Lonnie) of Wardville, OK and Jeanette O’Flannagan (Jim) of Olney, OK. Along with many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

Marcellus was preceded in death by his parents Herbert A. and Alice Martha (Williams) Brown, former wife Janice Brown Erickson, Sister Melba Brown and brothers Elton Brown, Mike Brown and Victor Brown.

A Memorial service is planned for 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2022, at McKillip Memorial Chapel in Kinsley.  Burial will take place in Oklahoma at a later date.
