Samuel J. “Sammy” Baker, 76, died March 30, 2020, at Medicalodge of Kinsley. He was born November 16, 1943, in Kinsley, KS. the son of Newton Sr. and Esther J. (Coulson) Baker.
He is survived by three brother’s; Newt Baker of Kinsley, KS., Alvin Baker and wife Linda of Lewis, KS., ad Thomas Baker and wife Phyllis of Bessemer, AL., four sister’s; Eva Marie Scherer of Wichita, KS., Joan Ford of Kinsley, KS., Theresa Cheevet of Hutchinson, KS., and Mary Boman and husband Rich of Clay Center, KS., Numerous nephews and nieces whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother’s; Robert, Daniel and Edward.
Sammy loved to listen to country music and watching old western movies and Coor’s beer. He loved hanging out at Young’s Club. He helped his brother Alvin lay brick for many years.
Graveside services are planned for 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery, Kinsley, Fr. James Mainzer is presiding.
Memorial are suggested to St. Nicholas Building Fund or to Medicalodge of Kinsley both in care of McKillip Memorial Funeral Home, Kinsley.
