Donald W. Strong passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Edwards County Medical Center in Kinsley.  He was born February 24, 1937 in Kingman, KS. to Phillip and Anna (Fredelake) Strong.  As a young child they moved to Windthorst to the family farm.  He attended the rural school and later graduated from Windthorst High School.

On August 29, 1959 he married Rothalee Fox at Windthorst.  They moved to Offerle and he went to work for the Offerle CO-OP.  In 1986 he and Victor Kurth purchased the Lumberyard and started S&K Building Center which they later expanded to Kinsley.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and later lived to golf.  He was a member of the Offerle Lions Club, a former Offerle City Councilmen, a member of the Kinsley Country Club and of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Offerle and when they moved Kinsley they joined St. Nicholas Catholic Church.

Don is survived by his wife, a son Dudley and wife Marjean of Fowler, KS., a daughter Mendy and Husband Steve Johnson of Denver City, TX., two grandchildren and three great grandchildren, a sister Carolyn and husband Patrick Forbes of Pittsburg, KS., two brothers Gary and wife Carolyn of Spearville, KS. and Larry Strong of Milsap, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Phillip Strong Jr.

Visitation will be 9 am until 5 pm Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at McKillip Memorial Funeral Home.  A rosary will be held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church at 7 pm that evening.  Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am Wednesday, September 13, 2017 with Fr. John Strasser presiding with interment to follow in Hillside Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials to the Kansas Cancer Treatment Center or Kinsley Country Club in care of the funeral home.
