Hubert T. Stanley

Hubert T. Stanley died April 18, 2018 at his home in Kinsley, Kansas. He was born January 29, 1964, in Kinsley, the son of David and Vivian (Lewis) Stanley. Hubert was the youngest of a large family. 

Hubert was a dedicated uncle. He helped raise 3 nieces and played a role in the lives of his many nieces and nephews. Hubert never missed a game, a school activity, or a milestone for his great nephews; Peyton, Mayson, and Paxton Stanley. Holidays Hubert spent playing with and spoiling Tina Stanley and Sara Robert's kids. Then he would follow the fun with a nap in the nearest chair with the youngest of the kids. All of his great nieces and nephews loved him very much. You couldn't find a more proud man than Hubert when talking about his family. He loved every one of them and would do anything to help them. 

Hubert was a loyal member of the Kinsley community. He could be found eating at his favorite local places, cruising the town, working in his yard or shop, and during the summer months you were guaranteed to see him on his backhoe. Hubert worked for the City of Kinsley for many years before being employed by Strate Construction Inc. 

Hubert was known for his good sense of humor, his infectious smile, and never-failing generosity. He was awarded by St. Jude for his donations in 2015. In his younger years he donated hundreds of toys and stuffed animals to children organizations. Hubert was always ready for a laugh and knew exactly what to say to lighten a room. 

Hubert was an animal lover. He could never stand to see an animal in need. His beloved Blacky was a testament to that. Hubert's sweet pup Mayson the Pig Dog was his spoiled companion. He would gladly talk your ear off about his dog. 

Hubert is survived by five brothers; David Stanley, Donald Stanley, Robert Stanley, Mark Stanley and Harold Wiley, and one sister; Amber Chism.  Also survived by many nieces & nephews, and great nieces & nephews. Hubert was preceded in death by his parents, niece Amanda Stanley, and two sisters Doris Stanley and Linda Norman.  Visitation is on Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 9:00 am until 7:00 pm at McKillip Memorial Funeral Home, Kinsley.  Funeral service is at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 23, 2018 at McKillip Memorial Chapel, Kinsley.  Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery following the funeral service.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Hubert T. Stanley Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
