It is with profound sorrow and deep love that we announce the passing of Leanna “Bailey” Holguin, who left this world peacefully on May 4th, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Leanna was 68 years old.
Born on September 25th, 1956, in Dodge City, Kansas, Leanna was the daughter of Frank and Barbara Bailey. She was preceded in death by her two brothers Jim Bailey and Steve Bailey, best friend and sister Mara Gill and two precious grandchildren.
Leanna made her home in Macksville, Kansas, where she was a familiar and friendly face in the community. She dedicated her time to working at the County Store and served many years as a lunch lady at the local school—a role she embraced with joy and love, always ready to serve.
Leanna was a woman whose heart knew no limits. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued, seen, and loved. Her kindness was effortless, her generosity unending. She was the kind of person who could light up a room with her laughter and comfort a soul with her presence. Her love was not only abundant but freely given—to family and friends.
Leanna is lovingly survived by her children: Sherry Holguin of Larned; Sabrina and husband Francisco Baca of Kinsley; Ana and her significant other Ryan of Rose Hill; Genaro and wife Rosio of Great Bend; Mario and wife Janet of Larned; Rigo Holguin of Lewis; Estela and husband Hernan of Macksville; and Adolfo and wife Evelyn of Lyons. A sister to Beverly Paradis of Connecticut. She was the proud grandmother of 25 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and aunt to many nieces and nephews who adored her. Her legacy of compassion, strength, and warmth will live on in every life she touched.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are comforted knowing that Leanna’s love continues to surround us, just as it always has. She was truly a gift to this world, and she will be missed beyond words.
