Rose Anna Kiser

Rose Anna (Ann) (Fox) Kiser, age 93, formerly of Ashland, Kansas, passed away on March 14, 2026 in the Kiowa County Memorial Hospital's long-term care unit in Greensburg, Kansas, following a 15-year journey with vascular dementia.

She was born on December 7, 1932, the youngest of 7 children of Otis and Dona (Seacat) Fox. She was born at home on the family farmstead in Lexington Community in Clark County, Kansas, as were all of her siblings. The homestead was 12 miles northeast of Ashland, and Rose Anna attended Coyote Country School in Lexington Community from 1st through 5th grades. She then attended Ashland's schools, graduating in the top of her class in 1950. After graduation, she attended Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas from September 1950 through May 1952, and attended Colorado State College of Education in Greeley, Colorado the summers of 1952 and 1953. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education, minoring in home economics. She later got a Masters Degree in elementary education from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. Her teaching career included 2 years in Cunningham, Kansas, 1 year in Big Bow, Kansas, and later 23 years in the Creighton School District in Phoenix, Arizona.

Rose Anna married Paul Kiser, from Arkansas, on June 2, 1954. They had 2 children, Larry Gene and Linda Kay.

Rose Anna was a very devoted housewife, mother, and teacher. She also served faithfully in church throughout the years in many roles, especially teaching Sunday School of various ages for many years. She was a very talented seamstress and cake decorator, sharing her gifts with many people. She made several large wedding cakes, including her daughter's. She also loved her large flower gardens, especially her bearded iris.

In July 2015, Rose Anna and Linda moved together to Ashland, Kansas, where they both were very happy living in the small town full of good memories, and where many cousins also live.

Rose Anna was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Cloyd Gene, infant sister Mary, and 4 adult brothers Paul, Fred, Loyd, and Virgil, and her husband Paul.

She is survived by her son Larry Kiser (wife Yanchun) and daughter Linda Kiser, and 3 grandsons Shawn, Evan, and Reagan, and step-grandson Eric (wife Lisa) Zhang.

Rose Anna was a wonderful and dearly loved person who will be remembered for her sweet smile, deep love, generosity, and kindness. Forever in our hearts, beloved Mom and Grandma!
