Evelyn Louise (Lorimor) Horacek

Evelyn Louise Horacek, 96, died April 12, 2020 at Medicalodge of Kinsley. She was born on June 21, 1923 in Hutchinson, KS. the daughter of Orion and Margaret (Farley) Lorimor.

She was a 1941 graduate of Kinsley High School.

Evelyn married Frank Horacek on April 26, 1947, in Rush Center, KS.he passed away on August 19, 1983.

She worked at the Kinsley Bank after High School. Then she was a stay at home mom until the youngest of her six children went to school. She then returned to work at the Hanston State Bank. Working her way up to Vice President before her retirement.

She loved arts and crafts and spent her free time sewing and doing craft work. Most of these hobbies were done before children and after the children were out of school. She had no free time because her children came first. Working and cooking during the day and laundry at night. She made many of the kids clothing. She was a person always on the move. After her retirement she traveled some mostly bus tours in the United States, but she did go to Europe and China as well.

Evelyn is survived by four sons; Gary of Napierville, IL., James of Hays, KS., Jon of Offerle, KS., and Brian of Kinsley, KS., a daughter; Shelley Young of Spearville, KS., and one sister Mary Ann Brookover of Austin, TX., 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, one son Joe and a brother James Lorimor.

Visitation will be from noon until 5 p.m. on Tuesday April 14, 2020 at McKillip Memorial Funeral Home, Kinsley.

A private family graveside service will be held in Hillside Cemetery, Kinsley at 2 p.m. on Wednesday April 15, 2020 with Dr. Galen Boehme presiding.
