Glora D. Brake, 75, of Kinsley KS passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019 in Salina, KS.
Glora was born September 9, 1944 to Dee Gilmore and Beulah (Selby) Gilmore in Great Bend, KS. She grew up on a farm Northwest of Rozel. She grew up with an older sister and brother and a younger sister.
She graduated from Rozel High School in 1962. She then attended Fort Hays State University for 3 years studying nursing where she met the love of her life, Mark.
She and Mark were united in marriage on April 16, 1966 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, North of Kinsley. To this union they welcomed 4 children.
Mark & Glora ran the family dairy for many years. In 1986, they decided on a new venture and purchased M & R Ford in Kinsley. They ran this business for 12 years and then Glora worked for Gibson's Distribution Center in Dodge City, KS until it closed. She then went to work for United Telephone until her retirement.
Glora was not only a homemaker, a partner for Mark in every aspect of life, but she was also a fierce fighter for her family. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for her family from being there when the grandbabies were born to sitting for weeks at the ICU with another, to attending baptisms, confirmations, weddings, and anniversaries. You just had to call and she would be there.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Glora is survived by her husband of 53 years and 4 children.
