Harry “Fuzz” Dale Johnson passed away on January 7, 2023 at the Edwards County Medical Center. He was born October 12, 1943 in West Plains, MO, the son of Archie Johnson and M. Eileen (Ferguson) Johnson Reichardt.
He and his family moved to Kinsley and Fuzz was a 1961 graduate of Kinsley High School. On January 2, 1966 he married Rose Amaro in Larned, KS.
Before his retirement in 2010, Fuzz worked for Wilbert Vault Company for 40+ years along with other jobs prior to that including Strate Construction. He had been a volunteer on the Kinsley Fire Department.
Some of Fuzz’s hobbies included bowling, golfing, playing darts, pool and billiards. He also enjoyed hanging out with family and friends, having some beers, dancing and an active karaoke participant. Fuzz had a happy go lucky personality and always had an ornery twinkle in his eye and never knew a stranger. He was a huge dog lover.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Rose, two daughters, Gina Schuette (Lyle) of Kinsley, and Monica Gillen (Eric) of Silver Lake, five grandchildren Weston Schuette (Riane), Carly Olvera (Morgan), Payton Gillen, Preston Gillen and Parker Gillen. One great-grandson, Forrest Schuette. And his loyal grandpuppy, Milo. One brother, Gary Johnson, West Plains, MO and one sister, Bonnie West, Coldwater, KS.
He was preceded in death his parents, one sister, Linda Polzin, and brother-in-law, Marvin Polzin.
Service will be held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Kinsley, KS on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 10:30 a.m., Father Ben Green presiding. Burial will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Kinsley. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday at McKillip Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials can be made out to the Edwards County Hospital Auxiliary in care of McKillip Memorial Funeral Home, Kinsley.
