James "Joe" Thorp

James Joseph Thorp, 65, went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2023. Joe was born on March 10, 1958, to Lee Hill Thorp and Charlotte Chlotilda (Smith) Thorp.

Joe was a life-long resident of Kinsley. After school Joe worked at Jack (Jack's) Vicker's Full Service Station. After Jack passed away, Joe went to work for the Kinsley Co-op. He later went to work at Young's Club as the head cook for many years. Joe loved working with the public. Joe was everybody's friend and would help anybody that he could. Joe also loved playing cards with family and friends.

Joe leaves behind his beloved cat, brothers; Gary Thorp of Great Bend, Timothy Thorp of Kinsley, Dale (Dawn) Thorp of Kinsley, sisters; Judith Donley of Kinsley, Theresa (Bill) Brokar of Kinsley, Candiance Thorp of Kinsley, and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather Floyd Pickering, and a brother David Thorp.

A graveside service will be on April 1, 2023 at 4 pm in Hillside Cemetery, Kinsley.

Memorials may be given to Arrowhead West in care of McKillip Memorial Funeral Home, Kinsley.
