Jeane (Kopsky) Schmidt

Jeane Kopsky Schmidt, passed away on May 19, 2022, in Hutchinson, KS. She was born on October 31, 1934 in LaCrosse, KS. the daughter of Matthew and Velma (Hoofer) Kopsky. On January 10, 1956 she married Donald W. Schmidt in Offerle, KS. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by five children; Matthew Schmidt and wife Marge, Anita Brown and husband Doug, Luke Schmidt and wife Angie, John Schmidt, and Paul Schmidt and wife Lisa. 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. A sister Margaret Pechanec, brothers in law; Stephen Pechanec, John Schmidt, Jim Schaller, and Orlando Peach. Sisters in law; Ceda Schmidt, and Dorothy Konrade. Numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a step father Leo Helfrich, her son Mark, her grandson Logan, two brothers Vern Kopsky and Virgil Kopsky, sisters Velma Atkinson and Vera Mae Peach.

Jeane was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Offerle, and Daughters of Isabella of Kinsley.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2022 at McKillip Memorial Funeral Home, Kinsley. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Offerle. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Offerle with burial to follow in New St. Joseph Cemetery, Offerle. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Church in care of the funeral home.
