Lowell “Jay” White, 83, died Sunday, December 1, 2019 at his home in Kinsley. He was born April 16, 1936 He was the son of Henry and Pearl (Brown) White. He married Emily Lancaster on October 9, 1954 in Kinsley. Jay was a retired Farmer/Stockman. He was a member of the Edwards County Farm Bureau Board for years, a trustee for South Brown Township and a member of the Kinsley Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife of the home. Daughters, Faye Trent of Kinsley, Milly White of Kinsley, Shelley (Rick) Williams, Denton, Texas, Jan (Terry) Hogan of Kinsley, He had 5 grandchildren, Tessa (Cavin) Taylor, Chelsea Williams, Denton, Texas, Dennis Hogan, Steve(Karla) Hogan , Teresa (Burke) Schroeder all of Kinsley, He also had 7 great-grandchildren. Aubrey (Karlton) Hoopes, Rachel and Cadence Alvarez, Jacob and Jaxon Hogan, Cadin Taylor and Geneveve Schroeder as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother- in-law Kay & L’Dean Fox and daughter Debra Aistrup.
Grandpa Jay, as he was known around town, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends telling stories about growing up and playing cards He also enjoyed attending the school activities and sporting events of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at McKillip Memorial Chapel, Kinsley with Dr. John Wolf officiating. Burial will be held in the Hillside Cemetery Kinsley. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the funeral home.
