Robert Leon Kallaus (Bob) was born October 25, 1935 in Parsons, Kansas to Robert F. and Marie (Schinstock) Kallaus. He passed away in his home on September 15, 2019.
The family moved to Kinsley in 1944 to a farm in the St. Peter and Paul area, where all the Kallaus children attended school. Bob graduated from Kinsley High School in 1955 and joined the US Army in the fall. His service included a tour of duty in Germany as a tank mechanic.
On July 28, 1962 he married Mary Steele of Kinsley at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. They made their home on the family farm near St. Peter and Paul North Kinsley where he was a lifelong farmer and stockman. This is where they raised their three children.
Survivors include his loving wife Mary, three children and their spouses, Curtis Kallaus (Judy), Lisa Medina (Fred), and Leann Domme (Steven). Four grandchildren, Terah, Morgan, Trey, and Carson, one great grandson, Gabriel. Siblings, Jerry Kallaus (Ann), Ronnie Kallaus, Leona Jantz (Ron), and Alice Fisher, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Robert and Marie Kallaus, sister Barbara Lightner, and grandson Braxston Medina.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Edwards County Historical Museum and Hospice of the Prairie.
